The 2.0 EFi 16 valve Twin Cam, catalyst-equipped engine provides a responsive, exhilarating 110kW (150PS). Safety throughout these performance models is provided by the enhanced restraint system with driver’s Airbag (SRS). During an impact the sensors inside the front seat belt inertia reels will already have locked the reel, and in addition other sensors will activate clamps which grab and hold the belt webbing to minimise paying out of the seat belts due to the spooling effect. Front anti-submarine seats are designed to reduce the likelihood of occupants slipping forward under their seat belts.
Vehicle protection is effectively undertaken by central, double locking, an anti-theft alarm and Ford’s Safeguard immobiliser system.
